The FETAC Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Supervision in Supervision in Childcare consists of 5 credits.
There are four mandatory modules each worth 1 credit:
1. Level 6 Social and Legal Issues in Childcare (1 credit)
2. Level 6 Child Development (1 credit)
3. Level 6 Supervision in Childcare (1 credit)
4. Level 6 Early Childhood Programmes (1 credit)
You must complete these four mandatory modules plus optional modules to the value of one credit to achieve your full Advanced Certificate in Supervision in Supervision in Childcare.
If you have completed any childcare modules at Level 5 or 6 you will receive credits. This list below is an example of credits given for modules that you may have already completed at level 5 or 6.

The total number of credits you will require for a full exemption of Level 5 modules is 1. For example, if you have completed Working in Childcare and Occupational First Aid, each of these carries 1/2 of a credit, you will have the required 1 credit and will only have to complete the mandatory modules. Course Structure
Killucan Community Services Centre currently offers the FETAC Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Supervision in Childcare programme on a part time basis.
Courses are provided evening times and some modules include one Saturday. The programme is designed so that learners can complete modules at their own pace and to accommodate work and home needs.

Registration for this programme usually takes place in early January and August.

Payment is on a module by module basis as explained below. Learners are not requested to pay for all 4 modules upfront.
Deposit: €100.00 made payable to Killucan Area Services Ltd. before course commencement to secure place (non-refundable unless course is cancelled by Killucan Area Services Ltd.)
Remaining balance: Should be paid within four weeks of course commencement as follows:
Week 1: €45
Week 2: €45
Week 3: €45
Week 4: €40
Progression
Having successfully completed the FETAC Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Supervision in Childcare learners may progress to the HETAC Level 7 and 8 programmes. Options may also be available to apply through the Central Admissions Office (CAO) for degree programmes.
